The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has implored Nigerians to shun electoral violence, before, during and after election.
He said it is only the votes of voters that will count therefore it is time wasting fighting to deprive others of their voting rights.
Lalong, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof, Danladi Atu, stated this, at a church service to mark the 62nd Independence anniversary of Nigeria.
He said that violent nature and posture would not count, urging Plateau citizens including all Nigerians to shun acts of negativity.
According to the governor, it is only the citizens’ votes that will count as the structure put in place by the Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC) has indicated.
Lalong, who condemned ballot-snatching and other negative vices, urged Nigerians to co-operate with the security personnel by giving them useful and relevant information to enable them work effectively.
