A popular philanthropist of Igala extraction, Yakubu Murtala, has donated the sum of 10 million naira to flood victims in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi state.
His gesture was contained in a social media post authored by one of his aides, Omera Opaluwa:
“GOOD NEWS FOR THE IGALA PEOPLE
It is not only bad news and violence news we share, we also share good news. Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka Ajaka, the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of All Progressive Congress, an illustrious son of Igala Kingdom has provided succor for the good people of Ibaji in this trying time of flood disaster.
“Hon. Ajaka has supported Ibaji flood victims with the sum of Ten Million Naira (10,000,000). While making this announcement to those concerned, he said the money is not meant for personal use or an avenue for anyone to enrich himself that he will ensure a close monitoring for the money to get to the real victims of the flood.
“Hon. Ajaka also appealed to all well meaning Igalas and Kogites in good positions and offices to use the influence and help the people as an individual can not do it all alone. God bless Hon. Murtala Ajaka God bless Kogi state God bless Igala land Feel free to share,” he said.
Hon Murtala popularly know as Muri is the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
Muri has been in the news recently for his humanitarian gestures and commitments to develop Igala land using personal fund.
His philanthropy has earned him respect and accolades among his kinsmen.
