In a groundbreaking move that sets a new standard for worker compensation in Nigeria, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has implemented a N72,500 minimum wage for state civil servants, earning widespread acclaim from political leaders and labour unions alike.

Hon. Edibo Ameh Mark (Marknoble), the APC Chairmanship candidate for Omala Local Government Area, has lauded the governor’s decisive action, highlighting its significant impact on grassroots development and worker welfare.

“This unprecedented increase in minimum wage demonstrates Governor Ododo’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of civil servants,” Hon. Mark stated.

“At a time when many Nigerian families are grappling with economic challenges, this intervention brings much-needed relief to our workforce.”

In a statement circulated by the Media and Publicity Committee of the APC Campaign Council, Omala Local Government, Hon. Mark emphasized that this approval by the state Governor is part of a comprehensive strategy to revolutionize public service delivery and ensure sustainable development at all levels of state governance.

“The new minimum wage represents a substantial increase from the previous benchmark, positioning Kogi State at the forefront of worker compensation among Nigerian states. The implementation comes as part of Governor Ododo’s broader initiative to enhance public service efficiency and improve living standards across the state”.
