The G37 Coalition Support Group has slammed Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, over the misguided comments linked to one of his sons, Shehu, targeted at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

While reacting to questions from journalists on Sunday, the Convener of the G37 Coalition Group, Hon Benjamin Ibrahim Amodu said Shehu’s comment indicates poor parental upbringing.

According to Amodu, “Any child who is well trained cannot insult a man old enough to be his father. Shehu didn’t goof, Atiku failed to train him well as a father”.

The Convener urged the former presidential candidate to call his son to order because according to him, Nigeria does not revolve around the former Vice President.

“If Shehu is sincere to himself and his immediate family, he is supposed to correct his father who is one of the problems we are facing in the country. Obasanjo cautioned Nigerians never to take Atiku serious because of his (Atiku) dubious character.

“It beats my imagination to read Shehu calling Mr President a drug baron. Maybe he thinks everybody is into drug dealing business like his father. Tinubu is many miles ahead of Atiku in every sense of ramifications.ย

“How can a man who has been contesting to become President since 1993 send his spoilt child to insult Tinubu who contested only once and won? Nigerians are tired of Atiku and he is looking for way to trend using Tinubu as a bait. Atiku and Tinubu are opposites. Tinubu is striving to repair the Nigeria that Atiku and his cohorts damaged due to their corrupt tendencies”.ย

Shehu had taken to his X handle to lash President Tinubu amidst controversies surrounding President Donald Trump’s threatened invasion.
