In a sustained effort aimed at consolidating on the operational successes recorded, troops of 6 Division have sustained the crackdown against oil thieves across the Niger Delta Region (NDR). In the latest operations conducted with other security agencies between 10 and 23 November 2025, several illegal refining sites were taken out, four suspected oil thieves were arrested with over 109,000 litres of stolen products recovered across the NDR. The National Universities Commission (NUC) has banned universities in Nigeria from conferring an honorary doctorate award to serving public officials. The Commission has also vowed to begin a crackdown on illegal universities awarding fake degrees to individuals across the country.
