The Army Council has approved the promotion of senior officers to the next ranks of Major General and Brigadier General respectively. A statement circulated by the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu revealed that a total of 47 Brigadier Generals have been promoted to the rank of Major General. The Federal Government has announced 77% completion of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) which is currently under rehabilitation. The government said it has fulfilled its pledge of achieving the mechanical completion of rehabilitation work on Area 5 Plant of the refinery. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, which made this known, revealed that as of December 15th, 2023, 84.4 per cent of Area 5 Plant, a key component of the Refinery, and 77.4 per cent of the entire rehabilitation project have been completed.
