The President, World Medical Association (WMA), Dr. Osahon Enabulele, has revealed that Nigeria lacks over 250,000 medical doctors which are needed to meet the World Health Organisation (WHO) doctor to patient ratio. A middle-aged, Stephen Monday, has been remanded in the custody of Lagos Correctional Service for allegedly defiling his fiancee’s four-year-old daughter. The Times Higher Education has released the 2024 World universities rankings across 108 countries and regions. In Nigeria, 15 universities featured on the list with Covenant University taking the first position. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed concerns over the growing spate of insecurity in Kogi state ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for November. A 27-year-old man residing in Enugu State, South-east Nigeria, has allegedly raped his best friend’s wife. The suspect, Gabriel Gibson, popularly known as Ogidi, was said to have committed the act in his friend’s apartment at about 5 a.m. on 18 August. The police spokesperson in Enugu State, Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
