MAJOR oil marketers, yesterday, adjusted the price of petrol to N185 per litre, from N169 per litre, in all parts of Nigeria. Despite the expectation that the new price would encourage supply to ease out shortage, checks by Vanguard indicated that there were long queues at the outlets of the major marketers that had limited stocks of the product, while those without the product simply shut their gates against customers. AUTHORITIES of the Nigeria Railway Corporation says it has rescued 300 stranded passengers in the aftermath of a train derail. The derail occured barely a month after no fewer than 20 passengers were abducted from a train station in Igueben, Edo State. SPY News gathered that the same train plying the Warri-Itakpe route derailed yesterday leaving many of the passengers stranded. Not fewer than 25 shops have been gutted by fire on Saturday in Araromi spare parts market, Ibadan, Oyo state. Sources who spoke to SPY News hinted that the fire incident started around 2am. Two bankers working for Access Bank identified as Agbo John Agama and Edoh Steve, has been convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment for conspiracy, aiding, and abetting fraud to the tune of N9.4 million. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today, January 9, 2023 in Abuja, commenced the sale of forfeited real estate assets by sealed bids, to the highest bidders. At today’s session, there was no successful bid for the properties in Lot 1 comprising 24 units of luxury flats at Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, which was expected to be sold as a single unit.
