Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation and the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) on Thursday frowned at the federal government’s choice of Ethiopian Airline as the preferred bidder and the five percent equity allotted to Nigeria in the proposed national carrier, Nigeria Air. The Defence Headquarters on Thursday said Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have eliminated 31 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and arrested 70 of them and their ‘collaborators’. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Musa Danmadami, a major general, said in Abuja at the bi-weekly news briefing on the operations of the armed forces that the feat was recorded in the last two weeks. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists and public to use alternative routes on Lagos-Ibadan expressway due to a tanker explosion in the early hours of Thursday. A Police officer and 22 others have been reportedly killed in a fresh armed herdsmen attack on Gbeji community and Police Station in Ukum Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state.
