The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists and public to use alternative routes on Lagos-Ibadan expressway due to a tanker explosion in the early hours of Thursday. A Police officer and 22 others have been reportedly killed in a fresh armed herdsmen attack on Gbeji community and Police Station in Ukum Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state. The World Health Organization says no fewer than 44 Ugandans have lost their lives in a recent outbreak of Ebola virus in the country. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press briefing in Geneva that there had been 60 confirmed and 20 probable cases, with 44 deaths and 25 recoveries. “We remain concerned that there may be more chains of transmission and more contacts than we know about in the affected communities,” he added.
