Nigeria’s golden athlete, Oluwatobiloba Amusan has been nominated for the Women’s World Athlete of the year award. The World Athletics released nominees for the award on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday. Amusan is the first Nigerian athlete in history to be nominated for the prestigious award. NSCDC officials decry lopsided promotion Some officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Ogun State have decried what they tagged a ‘lopsided promotion exercise’. The personnel called on the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, to come to their aid by correcting the abnormally. All is now set by 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA) to conduct “Exercise Still Water” for troops of the division and other units located in Lagos and Ogun state respectively. The Delta State Police Command has arrested three nurses at a private hospital in Asaba, the state capital. According to investigations, the hospital had confirmed dead a newborn brought by the parents for treatment on Sunday. The next day, the family reportedly brought back the deceased, alleging that his eyes, nose and ear had been removed. A report by PUNCH newspaper have indicated the killing of four soldiers in Enugu state. The soldiers were shot in Iyiachi community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State. The attack is coming 24 hours after a police station was attacked and set ablaze in the same local government. Two persons including a policeman and a civilian who had gone to the station to lodge a complaint were killed by the gunmen. Though details of the attack are still sketchy as at press time, a viral video shows the dead bodies of the dead soldiers.
Russia has reportedly fired 75 missiles at various cities across Ukraine. Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, gave the figure on Telegram.
