The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, said the suspended Abuja-Kaduna train services would resume operation in January 2023. The date of resumption has become necessary after the release of the remaining 23 kidnapped victims. Sambo further disclosed that the federal government did not pay any ransom for the release of the victims. Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Vincent Ogbulafor has passed on. Ogbulafor died on Thursday in Canada at the age of 73 years. Confirming his death, a family member who wished to be anonymous said Ogbulafor died of an undisclosed illness. The deceased was the PDP’s first National Secretary. He hails from Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government of Abia State. Ogbulafor, was born on May 24, 1949. Folasade Ogunsola, a Professor of Microbiology, has emerged as the 13th Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos (UNILAG). Ogunsola made history, as she becomes the first female VC of the institution established in 1962. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has threatened to sue the Federal Government over the registration of the Congress of Nigerian Universities Academics and the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics. ASUU’s lawyer, Femi Falana, said this on Channels Television, on Thursday. Gunmen has kidnapped a community leader, Mr Gashon Leks, in Daika community, Panyam district, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The victim is the elder brother of a retired military officer in the locality, Air Vice Marshal Leks. Some residents, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said the incident had been reported to security agents. Again the Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja Archdiocese, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, have kicked against the choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
