Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Directorate, on Monday, February 24, 2025 intercepted 59 suspected internet fraudsters.

They were arrested at Abacha Road, Mararaba axis of Nasarawa state following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in fraudulent internet activities.

Items recovered from them include 73 phones of different brands.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians on X (formerly known as Twitter) are beginning to troll the EFCC for their inability to prosecute politicians.

An X user @Nitsmith wrote “How many politicians have you guys still arrested. We want you guys to arrest politicians the same way, you arrest these youths and make Nigeria a better place”

Another Nigerian @Mecheultimate wrote, “What about politicians to cry out loud? Thereโ€™s no fraudsters in Nigeria more than politicians”.

@nut_joshua wrote “What’s is Stopping EFCC From Parading Ex Government Yahaya Bello Like This? Or Any Other Allegedly Corrupt Public Officer?”

@davidhairsaloon also vented his anger, “EFCC are not doing their job all you posting is this young boys mentioning fraud why EFCC are not going for the politicians that fraud the country Nigeria is not a country buh corruption leave those kids and go for the top people IBB as to be arrested no matter age or sickness”.

According to @ainamo94, “Please do the same for politicians who stole billions. Parade them and show us what you find with them. Enough of vip treatment for political thieves and you want to convince me you are fighting corruption”.
