As Muslims across the world, mark Eid Al-Adha, former two term Kogi State Commissioner, Dr. Alih Ajuh, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah, calling for peace, unity, and compassion among all Nigerians.

In a goodwill message released to the press to commemorate the festival, Dr. Ajuh, a renowned accounting expert and political chieftain, commended the Muslim community for their steadfastness and devotion, urging them to use the occasion to promote national harmony and extend kindness to the less privileged.

“Eid is a powerful reminder of the virtues of faith, sacrifice, and obedience to God. It is also an opportunity for reflection and for reaching out to others in love and solidarity, especially in these trying times”, he said.

Dr. Ajuh emphasized that religious festivals should serve as platforms for building bridges across faiths, stressing that peaceful coexistence and mutual respect are vital for the progress and unity of Nigeria.

“As a nation, we must continue to look beyond religious and political lines. Our shared humanity must always come first. I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to demonstrate the true spirit of Eid by showing generosity and compassion, not only within their communities but to all,” he added.

While wishing Muslims a joyous and safe celebration, Dr. Ajuh called on leaders, both spiritual and political, to continue to promote values that bind the country together, such as justice, equity, and good governance.

Eid Al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to obey God’s command and is marked by prayers, the slaughtering of sacrificial animals, and the distribution of foods and majorly meat to the needy.
