Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has fled his home due to submerging flood in Bayelsa state.
The disastrous flood that has devastated most parts of the country and almost the entire Bayelsa State has taken over the Otuoke residence of the former President.
Bayelsa state Governor, Duoye Diri, who visited the hometown of Jonathan on Friday in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state described the flood as an “attack by natural disaster”.
Diri lamented the level of destruction caused by the flood noting that it has affected the livelihood of Bayelsans.
The Governor while addressing journalists said Otuoke which is the host community of a Federal University had been submerged and most of the locals displaced, including Jonathan.
He assured the people of the commitment of the State government to put in place machinery to provide relief materials and medical assistance to victims of the flood.
