A group of successful Nigerians in diaspora known as Igala United Kingdom Political Consultative Forum (IUPCF) has endorsed the mandate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka ahead of the November 2023 Kogi State Gubernatorial Election.
According to a statement circulated by Samuel Promise Akwu, the Secretary of the forum the decision was reached at the end of a virtual conference held on the 6th of August 2023.
Alhaji Muritala Ajaka was present at the conference.
According to the statement:
“This conference marked a significant juncture of rigorous deliberation, primarily centered on the SDP governorship candidate’s current political pursuit. With unwavering attention and unanimous approval from the attendees, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka eloquently addressed a spectrum of questions posed to him.
“His responses showcased not only an astute grasp of Kogi State’s present condition but also a lucid vision of its rightful place in the mosaic of Nigeria’s states.
Indeed, it is apparent that Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka stands as a candidate deeply connected to Kogi State’s pulse, exemplifying a profound comprehension of its potential role in the broader Nigerian context. The SDP candidate has convincingly demonstrated both his competencies and an unwavering dedication to the ‘Rescue Kogi Mission,’ igniting exceptional fervor amongst his supporters.
In light of this comprehensive evaluation, and after meticulous analysis of the SDP gubernatorial candidate’s qualities and commitments in Kogi State, the aforementioned assembly formally endorses Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka as the ideal contender for the imminent November 11, 2023 elections.
“This declaration is a collective demonstration of confidence and support for his Excellency Alhaji Muri Ajaka. It is imperative to emphasize that Alhaji Muri transcends mere regional interest, embodying the spirit of Kogi State as a whole.
This endorsement appeals to all conscientious sons and daughters of Kogi State, urging them to collaborate with Alhaji Muri in realizing a new era for Kogi State characterized by inclusivity and progress.
“We shall mobilise at the grassroots using all available means and connections, raise needed funds for campaign materials to boost the awareness and popularity of Alhaji Murtala Ajaka at the rural/urban areas to ensure that our dear people of Kogi state come out to vote enmass come November 11th.
The group also appealed to Kogites and other opponents including their supporters to throw their weights behind the candidacy of Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as “he is obviously the most popular and acceptable candidate by our dear electorates in Kogi State as fronting a single candidate in the election will give us the harmonised strength and numbers to emerge victorious come 11th November, 2023”.
Igala United Kingdom Political Consultative Forum was founded by Cyril Idoko Akubo with Hon Charles Ile Umoru as the Co-convener.
