Kogi 2023: Udama Amoma’Igala Club Throws Weight Behind Igala Agenda

A sociocultural interest group, Udama’Amoma Igala Club has advised the Igala Nation to support the emergence of their kinsman in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

The task was given by the Leader of the forum, Comrade Moses Onuche at the end of a closed door meeting held in Abuja, Nigeria.

Addressing journalists at the end of the session, Onuche hinted that it is politically obvious that the Igalas are the best hands to steer the fortunes of Kogi state to a lofty height.

He further highlighted some notable developments attracted to the state during the tenures of Prince Abubakar Audu, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and Captain Idris Ichala Wada who were duly elected from the Eastern flank of Kogi state.

According to Onuche who kicked against the draconian polices of the incumbent governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello he said Kogi state is presently experiencing the worst leadership style since the advent of democracy.

He critically urged Kogites to reject the imposition attempt of another          “catastrophe who is about to be installed“.

He said the Igala Nation must adopt a single candidate while stating that it is now obvious Kogi state has been divided on the ugliest margins of ethnicity after Governor Bello anointed Ododo who he classified as a clueless and unpopular candidate against the wish of the people:

“It is a Kogi Agenda but Igala Agenda is sacrosanct at this juncture. Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has ignited a wildfire by unceremoniously endorsing Alhaji Usman Ododo to succeed him amidst public rebuke. This is a very sad development and it has sunken our beloved state into another oblivion of political quagmire.

“Governor Yahaya Bello has set an ugly pace and it must be rejected. Gone are the days of political godfathers in the Confluence State. If Kogites are ready to get it right, we must rally around the ambition of a political heavyweight of Igala extraction.

“Yahaya Bello has proved beyond doubts that the Ebiras are not yet ready to govern the state. It is pathetic that an accidental governor who inherited the votes of Prince Audu can be this cruel, unimaginably brutal and politically confused. Bello was not ready for any leadership responsibility but as an ambassador of Ane’Ebira, he failed woefully and he is still failing even on the eve of his departure from office. We urgently need the emergence of an Igala Governor who can erase the errors of Adoza Bello without trace because at the moment, Kogites are suffering and gnashing their teeth.

“As a group, Udama Amoma’Igala Club is not sentimental. We are also not a body of ethnic apologists because we know where we are coming from and we also know our destination. We can never fail,” he said.

Recall that Governor Yahaya Bello endorsed his kinsman (Usman Ododo) against the ambition of his Deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja and other aspirants during the recently conducted APC gubernatorial primary election in the state.

Udama’Amoma Igala Club is organizing a lecture/inauguration series scheduled for 3rd of June, 2023.
