Kogi Assembly Backs Comrade Babangida as Next NYCN President

The aspiration of Comrade Isah Onimisi Babangida to become the National President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) received a boost on Friday when members of Kogi State House of Assembly endorsed his candidature with additional resolve to give him the necessary support.

 

This is contained in a press statement signed and made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed. 

 

This followed a meeting held by the aspirant with the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, the Majority Leader, Hon AbdulRazak Suleiman, and other principal officers and members, including Hon Seyi Bello, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, Hon Jibril Abu and Hon Idrees Aliyu, among others.

The Speaker described the aspirant as an amiable, friendly, dedicated to whatever cause he embarks on, adding that Babangida is a perfect fit for the position and deserves all the encouragement necessary to clinch the position.

 

He said Comrade Babangida has the reach and the appeal among the youths of the country, stressing that he is sellable, and that he would promote his aspiration.

 

Earlier, the Majority Leader, Hon AbdulRazak Suleiman had formally informed the members of tne intention of the aspirant to vie for the post and appealed for their support.

He described Comrade Babangida as a young man with passion for the advancement of the cause of the youths, promising that if given the opportunity, he would not disappoint the stakeholders. 

 

Other speakers also added their voices, and described Comrade Babangida as a truly driven individual with the heart to be there for any cause he embarks on.

 

They wished him well and promised to stand behind him in his effort to become the number one youth in Nigeria.

 

Responding, an overwhelmed Comrade Babangida, who thanked the lawmakers for their accolades and words of encouragement, promised not to derail from his set objectives of ensuring a better and more empowered Nigerian youths if given the opportunity to serve.
