Zenith Bank in trouble as customer demands 10million naira compensation

A frustrated customer banking with Zenith Bank PLC, Comrade Jerry Ochada, has filed a suit against the bank claiming the sum of 10 million naira as compensation for damages.

According to the plaintiff, a “whopping sum” of 200,000 naira was stolen from his business account, 1222386291, Jarifa Concepts domiciled in Zenith Bank since July 2022.
Ochada said all effort to recover his money has proved abortive as the bank maintained they cannot trace the illegal transactions.

“I operate a business account, Jarifa Concepts, 1222386291, with Zenith Bank PLC. I woke up on the 3rd day of July 2022 to see a fraudulent debit alert on my phone. All effort to stop further debit by dialing *966*911# was not successful as the response explained I don’t have any account with the bank.

I quickly sent an e-mail to the bank demanding for refund because my details was not released to any third party and no OTP was sent to me authorizing such transaction. To my stark dismay, the bank later replied my mails explaining they can’t review the transaction.
“My money was diverted to a Sporty Bet account using Pay Stack platform at about 1:39am. I don’t watch football or have ever engaged in any form of online betting. I did not link my bank account to any betting site. They must pay 10 million naira as damages because my business has collapsed due to negligence and poor operational standard of Zenith Bank.
“It is obvious my money was stolen by Zenith Bank. If you go to Twitter and Facebook, you will read numerous complaints by other customers. I advise Nigerians to stop banking with Zenith Bank because their hard earned money is not safe,” he explained.
When contacted by SPY Reporters, Counsel to the plaintiff, Barr. Stephen Attabor declined speaking on the matter, hinting the case is already in court and it is scheduled for mention on 30th September 2022.
