The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, on Thursday, 18 September 2025, decorated newly promoted officers with a charge to uphold integrity, professionalism, and renewed dedication to national service.

Addressing the officers at the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, congratulated them on their elevation, which he described as “a reward for diligence, innovation, and commitment.”

He reminded the officers that their new ranks come with greater responsibility, especially in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and asset management.

“You are required to play significant roles in ensuring the command achieves its purpose, particularly in maximising revenue, promoting economic growth, enhancing financial security, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations”, Oshoba said.

The CAC commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the management team for upholding merit-based promotions, adding that the Service expects more from those elevated.

“I expect you to make a positive impact in your new roles and contribute to the growth of the Service and the nation”, he added.
