While in Bagana, Major General Obinna Onubogu, the General officer commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Nigerian Army advised indigenes on their ability to manage the crisis themselves because it is a communal war.

He encouraged them to imbibe the spirit of oneness and equity so as to help the military bring back the long  anticipated peace.

Maj-Gen. Onubogu reiterated the military’s efforts to help the community in restoring peace and order but according to him the major roles and its success lies within the cooperation of the indigenes who should bury their differences and embrace peace.
